Is Twoobs an ethically vegan brand?
Twoobs is an intentionally and ethically vegan brand, rather than one that uses vegan materials out of convenience, or for other reasons. According to the brand, "Our kinda footwear is just that - kinder to your feet, to the planet, and to our furry friends," while also saying, "We’re proud to say TWOOBS is 100% vegan!"What materials are used to make Twoobs?
Within each shoe's description on the Twoobs website it will give a detailed breakdown of the materials used to make that shoe. For example, their "OG+ // Jada Pink-ett Smith" model lists the following materials:Upper: Recycled lycra (80% post-consumer materials/20% conventional polyester), organic cotton and velcro
Sock: Recycled PU and memory foam
Outsole: Sugarcane EVA and natural rubber
Some of their newer models also contain Piñatex - an innovative pineapple-based leather.
Are their sandals eco-friendly/sustainable?
While it's difficult to truly assess the environmental-friendliness of a shoe, Twoobs' sandals could be considered quite eco-friendly/sustainable, due to their usage of mainly recycled and natural materials, as well as their development of a shoe recycling program.Does production of Twoobs create a lot of CO2 emissions?
While Twoobs doesn't share specific metrics about their CO2 emissions levels, they do claim to offset 100% of them. According to the brand, "We’re putting our feet down when it comes to carbon. We’ve had enough, and so has the planet. That’s why we offset 100% of our emissions to make our production process carbon neutral. We put our offsets towards the panda-protecting WWF Mamize Firewood-Saving Cookstoves Project. The project gives families in China’s Sichuan Province higher-efficiency stoves to use for cooking stuff like food and warming stuff like feet."Does Twoobs use ‘green’ shipping methods?
The approach Twoobs takes to green shipping is by offsetting the emissions they produce (from creating their product, bringing it to Australia, storing it, and sending it to their customers).Does Twoobs use eco-friendly packaging?

Being that their sandals are made in China, it's difficult for us as an outside, non-certifying 3rd party to verify whether or not Twoobs ensures its factory enforces all international and local labour laws, regulations and fair working standards to provide a safe and fair working environment for their workers. According to the brand, "We work with a really small factory, and actually moved to this particular factory a couple of years ago because the people who run it are younger and they just really get what we’re about at TWOOBS. They’re passionate about our kinder way of doing business - kinder to the planet and kinder to the people who make our shoes. We have full visibility over the employee policies as well as things like how much everyone gets paid, the hours and additional pay if someone works overtime and the insurance they offer. We’re also in the process of getting a third party CSR audit done to ensure we haven’t missed anything."Is Twoobs a charitable company?
According to the Twoobs team, "Through our carbon offsetting partner we are paired with an organisation and initiative which is currently the amazing peeps at WWF. We help fund a project which gives families in China’s Sichuan Province higher-efficiency stoves for cooking and heating their homes. The upgrades mean less pollution in people’s homes and also drastically minimises their demand for wood so it’s a double double win win!"Does Twoobs promote ‘slow fashion’ or a ‘circular economy’?
