Carmona Collection claims to only use vegan materials and components in all of their shoes, boots and sandals. Although they do not currently advertise any certification to verify their vegan status (they have informed us that they are currently looking into becoming certified), it is clearly built into the ethos and mission of the brand.

About Carmona Collection
Founded in 2020 by three sisters in León Guanajuato, Mexico, where making shoes is a tradition, Carmona Collection is an innovative brand with veganism, sustainability and ethics at the core of their ethos. They do, however, currently lack any form of marketed certification to substantiate their claims.
What materials are used to make Carmona Collection shoes?
According to the brand, "All the materials we use are manufactured in Mexico, we seek that the majority are manufactured in León, Guanajuato, which is our headquarters, although we have to bring some of them from other Mexican states, such as the cactus-based material, since it is manufactured in Guadalajara. The sole, the lining, and the accessories are made of various materials, such as polyurethane, cotton and aluminum, but all are free of PVC and toxic chemicals, we work with companies recognized by the state and the country as responsible companies and with those that have recognition or awards for their care for the environment."Are the glues, dyes etc. of Carmona Collection shoes vegan?
Carmona Collection has informed us that all dyes, glues and components of their shoes, sandals and boots are 100% vegan. Are Carmona Collection shoes eco-friendly?
It seems as though they are. While they don't advertise any 3rd party sustainability or environmental certifications, the primary material they use is a vegan, organic, nopal cactus-based product, which replaces the use of environmentally harmful animal leather and synthetics. They also source their materials from Mexico, which is where their shoes are produced, thus cutting down on material shipping emissions. They also claim to work hard to find suppliers that share their values of social responsibility and environmental commitment. Sustainability seems to be very top-of-mind for Carmona Collection. What about their packaging materials, are they eco-friendly?
According to Carmona Collection, "for our packaging, we have a plastic free packaging (except for the shipping documentation, which as a rule has to go in a small plastic bag). We reduce the use of unnecessary documentation and ornamentation and we use recycled/recyclable cardboard for our shoeboxes."What should I do with my Carmona Collection shoes when they're worn out?
We have asked the Carmona Collection team what the end-of-life process is for their shoes, and they have told us that they do not currently have one, but that they "want to develop a collection and repair or disposal program for our footwear - by 2023, once the brand grows a bit more." In the meantime, Get it Vegan recommends either trying to have them repaired, donating them to someone in need, or taking them to a clothing recycling depot (if available in your city), which can strip them down to their recyclable components.Where can I buy Carmona Collection shoes?
At this point in time, it appears that Carmona Collection is an online-only brand. We have contacted their team and are waiting to find out if they have any retail locations, or if they plan to have any in the near future, and they have informed us that they will only be selling their shoes online for the next while. Are Carmona Collection shoes made under fair working conditions?
Carmona Collection shoes are hand made in Mexico, where the company is based. They claim to take care of the people who make them, although there is no mention of how they do this, or whether the factories they use have fair labour certifications, or follow fair labour standards. We have asked them for clarification and they mentioned that since all their materials are manufactured by companies in Mexico and most are from their region, they visit the production plants to verify that what they say on their websites is true.Do Carmona Collection shoes ever go on sale?
On their website they occasionally list various sales, ranging from 10%-60%. They also offer a 10% discount code for all of their products when you sign up for their newsletter. Is Carmona Collection a charitable company?
We have asked Carmona Collection about any charitable initiatives they're involved with, and they told us, "Monthly we donate to the Save the Children Association and when required we donate products to a chain of aquariums in Mexico to raise funds and carry out awareness activities."Does Carmona Collection have a parent company?
They have informed us that they do not have a parent company.Related Brands
