Their ink is water-based and non-toxic, so any composting activity wouldn't leave toxicity in the soil. Although they do admit that they use plastic in their packing tape, they are constantly on the lookout for more sustainable options (they claim that the sustainable products they've come across simply aren't sticky enough).
