What materials are used to make All My Eco shoes?

On their website, All My Eco does share a breakdown of the materials used to make each specific shoe, within that shoe's product description. In general however, All My Eco uses a combination of vegan leather (Oeko-Tex®'s Standard 100 class I certified - used as the 'upper' material), Piñatex (for side decoration), recycled PET (2 plastic bottles used in each pair's inside cushioning), and cork (shoe tongue decoration). They also have a version of their sneakers that uses up-cycled Italian apple skin leather, corn waste and organic cotton in place of their traditional uppers. All My Eco has also confirmed with us that the glues they use are also vegan-friendly, and we have reached out to them for details regarding the composition of their shoe soles, and are awaiting reply.

Are the materials used to make All My Eco sneakers eco-friendly/sustainable?

All My Eco uses a vegan leather made with a synthetic material that has Oeko-Tex®'s Standard 100 class I certification, meaning that every one of its components has been tested for harmful substances and is harmless in human ecological terms. They also use cork for their tongue decoration, which is a 100% natural, renewable, recyclable and biodegradable material. Piñatex is also used as decoration, and is composed mostly of plant-based fibres, although it does involve the use of some synthetic material. All My Eco also uses recycled water bottles for their inner cushioning, which is quite eco-friendly. As we are awaiting information as to the composition of their soles, we cannot yet comment on how eco-friendly they may or may not be.

Does production of All My Eco sneakers create a lot of CO2 emissions?

From a carbon footprint standpoint, it's difficult to asses the impact that All My Eco has. In terms of remediating what impact they do have, it is worth noting that All My Eco plants 5 trees for every pair sold, through a partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects.

Does All My Eco use eco-friendly packaging?

According to All My Eco, "100% of (our) package-related CO2 emissions are offset in certified processes. We are thus making an active contribution to climate-friendly, sustainable parcel logistics."
